Riding Polls: Mandel and Lukaszuk trail NDP

Abingdon Research has polled two Edmonton-Whitemud and Edmonton-Castle Downs in the Alberta Provincial Election. Both are held by prominent PC MLA’s, Stephen Mandel and Thomas Lukaszuk respectively, and both trail their NDP challengers.

“Two of the PC’s biggest names in Edmonton are facing defeat at the hands of the NDP” said Hamish Marshall, Chief Research Officer of Abingdon Research. “Health Minister and former Mayor Stephen Mandel is far behind the NDP’s Bob Turner in Edmonton Whitemud, and former Deputy Premier Thomas Lukaszuk is even further behind NDP candidate Nicole Goehring.”

“If the election were held today these results would be pretty decisive, but there’s more than a week to go and a week is a very long time in politics,” said Marshall.
