Torch was founded in 2015 from the merger of Abingdon Research and Go Newclear Productions with the goal of creating an integrated research, creative and digital agency.

Our Team

Hamish I. Marshall President

Mr. Marshall is a strategist, pollster and demographic expert who tells stories with numbers.

He helps clients maximize their budgets and reach their targets by using innovative research and advertising strategies.

He served as the Manager of Strategic Planning to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, was the pollster for the successful 2008 national Conservative election campaign and has advised political parties from Vancouver Island to Bangladesh.

He is the author of the best selling book Everyone... but the people, about winning a referendum campaign against overwhelming odds.

In the private sector he was the Research Director for Angus Reid Public Opinion and spent a few years trying to build a wind farm off BC's west coast.

Hamish has an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Travis E. Freeman Vice President, Digital

Mr. Freeman is an experienced web developer.

He was the Database Specialist and Senior Developer of New Media for the Conservative Caucus Research Department.

Freeman was a lead for the Conservative Party of Canada digital team in the 2008 and 2011 federal elections. The programs he developed powered many of the online resources utilized in those campaigns.

He studied computer programming and digital pre-press at Algonquin College.

Brendan Jones Vice President, Creative

Mr. Jones is an experienced TV, radio and web producer.

He was the creative force behind many of the Conservative Party of Canada’s television and digital campaigns during the 2006, 2008 and 2011 federal elections.

Jones' work has aired across Canada, the US and Australia. A national columnist called one of his ads "the most powerful campaign spot since Ronald Reagan’s 'Morning in America.'"

He studied Television Broadcasting as well as Political Science and has worked in politics at all levels since 2003.

Mr. Jones lived in New Orleans for a time and miraculously didn't need a liver transplant.

Saundra Jones Lead, Creative Services

Ms. Jones is a graphic artist, visual designer, and infographic expert with a keen sense for how visuals can move people to action.

Saundra works with clients to build brands and deliver powerful messages by using cutting edge digital design strategies.

Her work has been featured on Huffington Post and shared on social media outlets by federal as well as provincial government ministers.

She studied design and visual communications at Ryerson University.

Saundra is the type of person to purchase the bottle of wine with the most compelling packaging. She aims to generate the same effect in all of her own work.

Justin Campbell Senior Developer, Digital

Justin Campbell is an experienced developer, especially with web technologies.

Most recently, Justin worked for the Conservative Party of Canada as their Lead Developer, including through Election 2015. During this time, Justin was responsible for developing solutions to help coordinate both local and national election efforts. His solutions have helped simplify digital and print media, digital marketing, fundraising, accounting, and event planning and management.

Born and raised in the nation's capital, Justin has been involved in politics since he was 16 years old. He studied Computer Science at Carleton University.
